Clothing for a desert safari should be neutral, breathable, and adaptable to hot, cold, and dusty conditions. The afternoons in the desert are scorching hot. Contrary to popular belief, the desert is not always scorching; early mornings and evenings may be bitterly cold.

The free-roaming population of desert elephants in the Kunene region is currently estimated to be around 600.

Sossusvlei is located about 350km southwest of Windhoeki(southern part of the Namib Desert). It is a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes's Namib-Naukluft National Park.

The driving distance from Otjiwarongo to Waterberg Plateau National Park is 113 km.

The best time to visit Anysberg Nature Reserve is during late July and early August - when the Mesembryanthemums (vygies, ‘little figs’ in Afrikaans) are bursting into flowers. There are also impressive stands of proteas which occur at higher altitudes.

June to October is the best time to visit Namibia - wildlife viewing in the dry season is the best in all national parks, especially in Etosha National Park. The newborn animals are also born in summer.
