As we speak, a major crossing on the side of the Mara River below Lookout Hill at Miti Moja is happening. Approximately 800-900 Wildebeest have taken a leap of faith and crossed over into the mara triangle. Water levels are low this year which could be the reason that there were no casualties with this crossing.
Thanks to our Instagram contributors teekupatelfotofilm and sokomotoimage for the beautiful update.

"The wildebeest migration is with us and our guests have witnessed some truly impressive crossings over the Mara River, since about the 19th of July."
These images (taken by Little Governors' Camp guide Moses Manduku), are of a crossing taking place at the Lookout area. The herds were heading from the Reserve into the Mara Triangle; due to high grass levels in both parts, their movement was slow even after crossing.

We were able to receive a recent location of the herds thanks to our contributing partner, Masaai Wanderings, which was near Nyaruboro Hill (almost to Naona Moru camp near Moru Kopjes). The rains have delivered fresh grasslands to the wildebeest herds, which they appear to be enjoying.
